Pneumology

Pneumology is a medical specialty dedicated to the prevention, education, diagnosis and treatment of adults and children with acute and chronic problems of the respiratory system. It includes a broad range of clinical activities, as well as laboratory tests to study the respiratory physiology at rest and during exercise, sleep problems and techniques that are specific to the tracheobronchial tree and pleura. Modern pneumology covers fields as diversified as intensive care, environmental respiratory diseases, sleep apnea, lung cancer and respiratory rehabilitation.
