Pediatrics

Pediatrics is the medical specialty that deals with the health of children, their growth, development and the many pathologies that affect them. Pediatricians take care of pediatric and neonatal emergencies, infection (shock, meningitis, septicemia, etc.), poisoning, seizures, trauma, respiratory failure and many other conditions. They are also consulted regarding the care of children with disorders of varying complexity, such as diabetes, cystic fibrois, asthma, metabolic difficulties, development problems, motor deficit, learning difficulties, heart conditions, inflammatory diseases, etc.

Pediatricians are also called upon to help children experiencing difficult situations, such as maltreatment, sexual aggression, social, legal and relational problems, etc.
