Geriatrics

Geriatrics is a medical specialty that treats the elderly. It can be general or targeted in nature or call upon other disciplines concerning the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of biological, psychological and social problems that affect people in later life. Its purpose is to maintain and possibly restore the independent functioning of elderly persons in a familiar environment.
