Allergy and Clinical Immunology 

Allergy and clinical immunology is a subspecialty (a specialty within a specialty) of internal medicine and pediatrics that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses affecting the immune system. The allergologist is the medical specialist that treats anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) caused either by food, insect venim or medication. The allergologist also deals with asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic exzema as well as problems with the regulation of the immune system that can cause immunodeficiency, autoimmune diseases, non-allergic urticaria, or hereditary or acquired angioedema.
